Safina, Dementieva reach semis; Jankovic ousted in Germany

Dementieva will meet fellow Russian Svetlana Kuznetsova on Saturday, as the fifth-seeded Kuznetsova handled Argentine Gisela Dulko 6-3, 6-2. Kuznetsova defeated Dementieva in the 2004 U.S. Open finale.

Three of the four semifinalists here hail from the powerful women's tennis nation that is Russia.

The 2009 Porsche titlist will pocket $107,000.
